PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of reducing disposable diaper change time and reducing change time of a pad to be fitted onto the inner surface of the disposable diaper to reduce diaper changing work.SOLUTION: A disposable diaper is provided with upper fastening tapes positioned on the upper side and lower fastening tapes positioned on the lower side in the back side part of an exterior sheet, the upper fastening tapes and the lower fastening tapes extending in the width direction. When wearing the disposable diaper, the lower fastening tape is engaged with the abdominal side part of the exterior sheet in the upward inclined posture, and the upper fastening tape is engaged with the abdominal side part of the exterior sheet in the downward inclined posture. In one of the upper fastening tape and the lower fastening tape, a first engagement part is provided on the inner surface of the distal end of the main body extending in the width direction and a second engagement part is provided between the first engagement part and the proximal part of the main body. In the other of the upper fastening tape and the lower fastening tape, a third engagement part is provided on the inner surface of the distal end of the main body extending in the width direction, and a second fastening area is provided on an outer surface of the main body.
