PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for prevention and treatment of a liver disease by using A2B adenosine receptor antagonist.SOLUTION: Hepatic fibrosis is an example common to many liver complaints, which is defined as an itrahepatic cicatrization. Provided are a method for prevention and treatment of hepatic fibrosis by using the A2B adenosine receptor antagonist and use of the A2B adenosine receptor antagonist in the treatment and prevention of liver damages caused by alcohol abuse, surgical treatments, viral hepatitis, and uptake of hepatotoxic, or of other liver complaints.
