PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition having high stability of an ascorbic acid phosphoric ester salt and excellent prophylactic effects on gingivitis, improving irritation with high pH during or after toothbrushing, bitterness derived from the ascorbic acid phosphoric ester salt or astringency derived from a siliceous polishing agent and having a good feeling of use.SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition comprises (A) the ascorbic acid phosphoric ester salt, (B) trimethylglycine, (C) the siliceous polishing agent and (D) an alkaline agent. The formulation ratio of the (B) ingredient/(C) ingredient is 0.02-3.0 expressed in terms of mass ratio. The initial pH of the composition and pH at 25°C after preserving for 1 month at 25°C is 8.0-9.5.
