The extract of barley of the colored lineage has an excellent ceramide production-accelerating effect, and shows an effect of preventing or improving the skin roughness and dry skin. Also, the extract of barley of the colored lineage has an excellent melanogenesis inhibitory effect, and shows effects of preventing or improving spots and dullness.
