An exhaust gas sensor (100) is provided with: a pump cell (110) that adjusts an oxygen concentration in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine; a sensor cell (130) that detects the concentration of a specific gas component from the exhaust gas that has passed the pump cell; a first cell (120) that detects the oxygen concentration adjusted by the pump cell; and a second cell (180) that is provided on the upstream side in the flow direction of the exhaust gas from the first cell and detects the oxygen concentration.
