PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for electrolysis which can attain a high ozone generation efficiency even at a low current density (low voltage) and therefore suited for cost reduction in view that, although an electrode composed of a Ti (titanium) substrate and a Pt (platinum) film formed on the surface thereof is known as an electrode for electrolysis for ozone generation, it necessitates an increased cost because this film needs to have an increased thickness to avoid risk of break encountered when the current density is heightened in order to increase an ozone generation amount.SOLUTION: In the electrode for electrolysis, the surface of the electrode which is opposite to a cathode and is effective to electrolytic activation is equipped with a first region formed from a valve metal such as titanium or an oxide thereof and a second region formed from a noble metal such as platinum or an alloy of a noble metal wherein the first region and the second region are formed to be exposed to the opposite surface of the cathode.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】オゾンを生成する電解用電極として、Ti(チタン)の基板の表面に、Pt(白金)の被覆膜が形成されたものがあるが、オゾンの生成量をアップさせるために電流密度を高くすれば、この被覆膜が破れる虞があるため、この被覆膜を厚くしなければならず、コストアップとなる。このような点に鑑みて、低電流密度(低電圧)でも高いオゾン生成効率が得られ、低コスト化に適する電解用電極を提供するものである。【解決手段】陰極と対向する電解作用の有効電極面が、チタン等の弁金属またはその酸化物で形成された第1領域と、白金等の貴金属または貴金属の合金で形成された第2領域とを備え、前記第1領域及び前記第2領域が前記陰極との対向面に露出して形成された電解用電極。【選択図】図1
