PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin having absorption ability of ultraviolet-A and is excellent in temporal stability.SOLUTION: The invention provides an external preparation for skin containing a compound represented by the following general formula (1) an organic ultraviolet absorber which is solid at 20°C, having an absorption maximum in wavelength of 330-500 nm and an oily component containing at least one ester oil which is liquid at 20°C and wherein the total content of the oily components is less than 30 mass% to the total mass of external preparation for skin, and the transmissivity of the light with a wavelength of 350 nm in the coating film of the external preparation for skin, in which an application amount is 1.3 mg/cm2, is 60% or less.
