The present invention relates to antimicrobial compositions, and more particularly to antimicrobial compositions for cleansing applications that provide antimicrobial efficacy with relatively short contact times. Accordingly, the present invention provides an antimicrobial composition comprising: a) 0.1-100 ppm by weight of a silver compound； b) a salt of a sulfonic acid； and c) 1-85% by weight of a salt of a fatty acid.
