A wheelchair (10) is disclosed. The wheelchair comprises a seat module, a backrest module, a front frame module, and a rear wheel module. The seat module includes a seat frame supporting a seat. The backrest module includes a backrest frame connected to the seat frame and supporting a backrest. The front frame module includes a front frame. The front frame includes left and right bended legs removably connected at their upper end to the seat frame and at their lower end to a footrest. The bended legs are supported by caster wheel assemblies via caster supports. The rear wheel module includes left and right rear wheels pivotally connected to an axle. The rear wheel module is removably connected to the seat module through left and right connecting elements (43b). The seat frame consists of left and right longitudinal profiles (11b) extending in the same plane. The left and right connecting element (43b) comprises a tubular element (44) extending in a direction approximately orthogonal to the plane defined by the seat frame. A first securing arrangement (60) is positioned at the upper end of the tubular element (44). The first securing arrangement (60) allows the tubular element (44) to be fixed with respect to the left and right profile (11b) of the seat frame. A second securing arrangement is positioned along the tubular element and the second securing arrangement allows the tubular element (44) to be fixed with respect to the axle of the rear wheel module.
