The knee spacer (10) has a tibial component (2) and a femoral component (1) as separate components. The tibial component and femoral component has a running surface (4) by which the components are placed against each other so that the components are moved in patient-inserted state. The tibial component and the femoral component comprise two recesses (12,14). The openings of recesses are arranged in the running surface side of the components such that the openings do not slide over the running surface of the component during articulation of the knee spacer.
