The method involves partially or completely mixing combustion gases of a combustible gas e.g. propane or butane gas, with ambient air. The combustible gas is burned with excess air. The combustion gases are guided through a active and/or aromatic ingredients depot in a mouthpiece. A target temperature is selected by the proportion of the combustion gases and by the ratio of the mixture of the combustion gases with the ambient air.
