PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter material in which frictional resistance is reduced and driving force and sliding sound are reduced and sharpness is also improved. SOLUTION: A pair of cutter materials 3 and 4 used for reaping apparatus 1 in which a plurality of cutting blade parts 11 are protruded in comb-like state from a side end 10a of a band plate-shaped base 10 is oppositely brought into contact with each other and in the pair of cutter materials 3 and 4, the cutting blade parts 11 are rubbed together by relatively reciprocating either one cutter material 3 to the other cutter material 4 to carry out cutting action. In the pair of cutter materials 3 and 4, at least either one of flat opposite surfaces 10b and 11a of the band plate-like base 10 and the cutting blade parts 11 has recessed parts 14 and 15 formed on the inside of each profile.
