PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade assembly in which cut materials such as branches of trees are prevented from being flipped between a cutting blade part of an upper blade and a cutting blade part of a lower blade.SOLUTION: A blade assembly 20 for use in a hedge trimmer 10 is configured to cut a cut material B being present between the cutting blade part 22b of the upper blade 22 and the cutting blade part 23b of the lower blade 23 by making upper and lower blades 22, 23 reciprocate relatively in the opposite direction in the longitudinal direction LD. Respective cutting blade parts 22b, 23b of the upper and lower blades 22, 23 have: first side parts 22b1, 23b1 laterally projecting from the side of board parts 22a, 23a； second side parts 22a2, 23a2 laterally projecting from the position unlike the first side parts 22b1, 23b1 at the side of the board parts 22a, 23a； and third side parts 22b3, 23b3 for connecting the tip of the first side parts 22b1, 23b1 with the tip of the second side parts 22b2, 23b2.
