In some embodiments, the present invention provides a method for the treatment of B cell lymphoma. Some such methods include administering an HVEM ectodomain polypeptide, anti-HVEM antibody or anti-BTLA antibody to a subject in need thereof. Some such methods involve the use of CAR T cells, such as CD19-specific CAR T cells. The present invention also provides compositions useful for such methods.
