The sensor (112) has a flexible tube-like sensor element (122) provided with a flexible tube-like body (124). Two electrode rings (126) are attached to the body for electrochemical determination of concentration of analyte. Wires (150) for the electrode rings are embedded in the body and electrically and/or galvanically isolated from each other. The rings are electrically connected with the wires over electrical feed throughs partially penetrating into the body. Electrical contacts (136) are provided at an end of the sensor element turned away from an implantation end. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an implantable sensor.
