PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a flaky fine powder which enables recovery and recycle of substrates and release layers and production of a high-purity flaky powder in a high yield with good productivity.SOLUTION: A method of producing a flaky fine powder includes a lamination step of preparing in ionic liquid of a melting point of 50-150°C on the surface of a substrate composed of a polymer film and forming a thin film of a metal or a metal compound on the surface of the ionic liquid to obtain a laminate, a peeling step of peeling the ionic liquid and the thin film from the substrate by heating the laminate to a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the ionic liquid and a separation recovery step of separating the thin film from the ionic liquid and recovering the thin film.
