Abstract: The present invention pertains to biodegradable hollow cylindrical tubes made from drying/dried leaflets of palm trees more particularly the coconut palm leaflets of length eight inches without the midrib and of four inches with the mid rib of the leaflet as part of the cylindrical tube. The drying/dried leaflets are removed from the rachis. The leaflets of appropriate breadth and required length are cut out. Each leaf portion of eight inches without midrib or four inches with mid rib as part of the tube. It is then rolled to form a narrow cylindrical body stuck along the length using water resistant food grade adhesive and then aloud to dry. This tube is then dipped in beeswax/carnauba wax/paraffin wax to retain its moisture and increase its shelf life. In case of the four inch tube with the midrib as part of the tube, the lower end of the tube is cut at an angle such that the mid rib is protruding downwards to be used as the portion to puncture the seal of tetra packs from which liquid is to be sipped.
