The pressure pulse wave sensor includes: a sensor chip 10 which includes: a pressure-sensitive element row 10D configured by a plurality of pressure-sensitive elements S that are arranged in a direction X; and a terminal portion 10B and terminal portion 10C that are placed in both end portions in the direction X of a pressure-sensitive surface on which the pressure-sensitive element row 10D is formed, the chip-side terminal portion electrically connected to the pressure-sensitive element row 10D; and a substrate 11 which includes a concave portion 11A, the sensor chip 10 fixed to the bottom surface of the concave portion 11A. A terminal portion 11B is disposed on the top surface of the substrate 11 which is adjacent to the terminal portion 10B in the direction X. A terminal portion 11C is disposed on the top surface of the substrate 11 which is adjacent to the terminal portion 10C in the direction X. Wires W1 which connect the terminal portion 10B and the terminal portion 11B to each other, and wires W2 which connect the terminal portion 10C and the terminal portion 11C to each other are covered in a separate manner by protective members 13.
