PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial agent which exhibits efficacy against drug resistant bacteria and to provide a treatment method of resistant bacterial infectious disease using the antimicrobial agent.SOLUTION: Provided is an antimicrobial agent comprising riccardin derivatives with riccardin, macrocyclic polyphenol isolated and purified from moss, as a leading compound, and solvates thereof or hydrates thereof, as an active ingredient.
