The patent of innovation refers to the development of a porous matrix, of the type scaffold, produced from chitosan and heteropolissacarídeo extracted from the exudate of Anacardium occidentale L., popularly known as the cashew gum, the latter, modified with the addition of phthalic anhydride.The matrix developed aims to provide transitional substrate adherent to the cultivation of mesenchymal stem cells (CTM), replacing the extracellular matrix, for the purposes of therapeutic trials.The matrix represents an advantageous use material developed and differentiated, low cost produced by natural resource of Brazilian flora.For the manufacture of scaffold, equal volumes of solution of the cashew gum modified with phthalic anhydride is mixed with a solution of chitosan.The final solution was distributed in the wells, frozen (- 20C) and lyophilized.The matrix formed was sterilized with ethylene oxide, and a quantity of 1X105 cells \/ ml were sown on the surface of the scaffold, in 24 wells culture plates for 7 days.Mesenchymal stem cells seeded on the scaffold manufactured presented typical morphology, uptake and distribution of pores in the matrix suitable for the interior.Analysed by histological techniques and scanning microscopy.The test of MTT showed positive results for the formation of crystals of formazan within macrophages, indicating that they were viable within the matrix, the use of SCAFfolds produced with cashew gum from modified with phthalic anhydride and chitosan has applicability for cultivation in vitro cell functioning as a matrix to support the growth ofThese cells, emerging as an important biomaterial to be used in surgical applications as carrier and means of transport of cells in processes of tissue regeneration.a patente de inovação refere-se ao desenvolvimento de uma matriz porosa, do tipo scaffold, produzido a partir da quitosana e do heteropolissacarídeo extraído do exsudato do anacardium occidentale l., popularmente conhecido como goma do cajue
