PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover liquid absorptive fiber from a material with high purity, by improving opening performance of a separator.SOLUTION: The separator separates the liquid absorptive fiber from the material having the liquid absorptive fiber and a contaminant on an absorptive article, and comprises a case, an input port for inputting the material in the case while placing the material on an air flow, a rotary member stored in the case and agitating and opening the material and a discharge port for discharging the liquid absorptive fiber from the inside of the case while placing the fiber on the air flow among the material opened by the rotary member. The rotary member rotates around the central axis set along the axial direction in the predetermined direction toward the discharge port from the input port, and has a projection part of projecting outside in the crossing direction with the central axis in a plurality of positions in the axial direction.
