PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom plug fitting structure of a fishing rod in which it is prevented that a bottom plug is accidentally removed and missed, an outer peripheral surface part of a root rod where the bottom plug is attached is protected, and gripping performance is improved when the root rod is gripped.SOLUTION: An intermediate fitting body 2 is bonded to a root rod 1 by means of capping. A bottom plug 3 is screwed into the inside of a rod bottom end part 1A of the root rod 1 that is inserted into the space of the intermediate fitting body 2. The root rod 1 is attached to the intermediate fitting body 2 in a state in which a rod bottom side end of the bottom plug 3 is positioned on the side closer to a rod tip than to the rod bottom end of the intermediate fitting body 2.
