The invention relates to a method for producing taxifolin having the following steps: stacking wood particles in a percolator extracting the wood particles in the percolator using ethanol in order to dissolve at least resins oils and taxifolin conducting the ethanol extract out of the percolator and purifying the ethanol extract in order to produce taxifolin using the following steps in the given sequence: producing a mixture of water and the ethanol extract mixing the mixture at 70 �C to 99 �C such that the taxifolin dissolves in the water phase of the mixture cooling the mixture to below 65�C in order to separate and conduct the resin phase and the oil phase from the water phase adding taxifolin seed crystals to the water phase controlling the temperature of the water phase to 0 �C to 30 �C in order to crystallize the taxifolin and separating the crystallized taxifolin from the mother liquor.
