Cylindrical ion cyclotron resonance measuring cell for use in Fourier-transformation ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry, has cover surface divided into elongate electrodes, where breadth of electrodes is varied along breadth of cell
The cell has a cover surface, which is partitioned into elongate electrodes at a middle part of the measuring cell. Breadth of the elongate electrodes is varied along the breadth of the measuring cell. Annular electrodes (y, z) are provided at both the ends of the measuring cell. The elongate electrodes are designed as cigar-shaped cover electrodes (a-h) or triangular cover electrodes (i-x) or dual triangular cover electrodes by bent or offset cutting slit. Halves of the cigar-shaped cover electrodes are attached to an image flow-measuring amplifier. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring mass spectra of high mass resolution by an ion cyclotron resonance measuring cell.
