A hygiene article comprising one or more layers, which article comprises a solid emulsion, which solid emulsion comprises a matrix of solid continuous phase and a dispersed oil phase, wherein the solid continuous phase comprises cellulose derivatives (CD), nanocellulose and the dispersed oil phase is an oil containing composition. The cellulose derivatives (CD) are preferably chosen from carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC), or hydroxylpropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), preferably CMC or HEC, or combinations of two or more of these cellulose derivatives. Methods of manufacture of the hygiene article comprising the steps of preparing a film, foam, or particulate comprising the solid emulsion, and incorporating it into a hygiene article, or by applying a fluid emulsion onto a web of fibrous material, and drying the fluid emulsion until 50-100wt% of the water comprised in the fluid emulsion has evaporated, and incorporating the web of fibrous material into a hygiene article, or by applying a fluid emulsion onto a web of fibrous material already incorporated in a hygiene article and drying the emulsion.
