The invention relates to a device (10) for cleaning and/or disinfecting the rim (2) or part of a piece of tableware (1) that comes into contact with a consumers mouth, for example of a dispensing receptacle (1a), cup (1b), soup plate (1c), piece of cutlery (1d), beverage can (1e) or beverage bottle (1f), at least comprising: a container (20) for holding a cleaning and/or disinfectant liquid (99) an operating mechanism (30) for dispensing the liquid (99) from the container (20) to an outlet (50) and a distributing attachment (60) which is effectively connected to the outlet (50) and comprises two opposite legs (61) that delimit a gap (70) having an insertion opening (71) therebetween in such a way that a portion (5) of a rim (2) or part of a piece of tableware (1) that comes in contact with the consumers mouth and is to be cleaned and/or disinfected can be introduced into the gap (70) via the insertion opening (71). A distributing attachment (60) designed in said manner has the advantage that esthetically unappealing impurities and/or pathogen loads sticking to the rim (2) or to the part of a piece of tableware (1) that comes in contact with the consumers mouth are cleaned and/or disinfected section by section by means of the legs (61) once the rim (2) or part coming in contact with the consumers mouth has been introduced into the gap (70) so that esthetic expectations can once again be met and/or the risk of pathogenic infections can be reduced for consumers whose mouths come in contact with the rim (2). The invention is thus particularly suitable as a mobile pocket-size pencil.
