PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component derived from wakame seaweed which is novel as an active ingredient of AMPK activity-promoting composition.SOLUTION: (1) AMPK activity-promoting composition has an extract, which is obtained by hydrolyzing wakame seaweed to which alginic acid decomposition treatment is performed, separating and recovering an insoluble fraction of obtained hydrolysate, and extracting the recovered insoluble fraction by organic solvent, as an active ingredient. (2) AMPK activity-promoting composition described in the (1) in which the organic solvent is hydrocarbon-based solvent or lower alcohol.
