To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of improving operability of slice positioning.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus performs first imaging prior to second imaging, and includes a reception part, a generation part, a control part, and a display part. The reception part receives settings of a region in which an RF pulse is applied to a subject in the second imaging on a first image obtained on the basis of the first imaging. The generation part generates a three-dimensional image on the basis of the first image. The control part determines a transmission region to which transmission processing is applied in the three-dimensional image according to an imaging purpose in the second imaging.
