An operating apparatus of an endoscope which is provided with a flexible tube inserted into a body to be examined and having a bending part at a distal end thereof and which performs work by bending the bending part according to a manual operation, comprising: a operating part provided with a rotation operating mechanism which can rotationally drive a pinion gear meshing with a rack connected to wire for bending the bending part according to manual operation of an operator, and the rotation operating mechanism has a lock mechanism which can impart braking force to the operating part of the rotation operating mechanism, wherein the lock mechanism is provided to correspond to each of a horizontal-directional rotation operating part and a vertical-directional rotation operating part.Linvention concerne un manipulateur dendoscope. Cet endoscope, qui comporte un tube souple à introduire dans un corps à examiner, et dont lextrémité distale est un segment capable de flexion, agit en faisant plier le segment flexible en réaction à une commande manuelle. Ce manipulateur est pourvu dun module de mise en œuvre qui comporte un mécanisme de commande de rotation capable dentraîner en rotation un pignon dengrenage entraînant une crémaillère reliée à un fil de façon à faire fléchir le segment flexible en réaction à une commande manuelle dun opérateur. Le mécanisme de commande de rotation comporte un mécanisme de blocage qui peut communiquer une force de freinage au module de mise en œuvre du mécanisme de commande de rotation. Ce mécanisme de blocage est conçu pour correspondre à deux modules de mise en œuvre de rotation, lun des deux opérant dans le plan horizontal, lautre dans le plan vertical.
