PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pet food excellent in preservability, processability, moldability and cost performance, and excellent in digestive absorbency because cereal included in the raw material is degraded into low-molecular one, and to provide a method for producing the pet food.SOLUTION: The pet food is produced by fermenting a mixture produced by admixing bacillus natto and/or fermented soybean-related bacillus to raw material containing fresh meat and cereal, under an aerobic condition, wherein at least part of the cereal included in the raw material is degraded into low-molecular one to become monosaccharides. After passing through the fermentation process, the pet food can be molded using a two-axle extruder.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】 原料として生の肉類を含んでいても保存性、加工性、成型性及びコスト性に優れ、原料に含まれる穀物が低分子化されて消化吸収性に優れたペットフード及びその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明に係るペットフードは、生の肉類と穀物とを含む原料に納豆菌及び/又は納豆近縁菌を添加し混合して生成された混合物を好気発酵させることによって製造され、発酵によって原料に含まれる穀物の少なくとも一部が単糖まで低分子化されている。さらに、本発明に係るペットフードは、発酵工程を経ることによって二軸エクストルーダを用いた成型が可能となる。【選択図】 図1
