PURPOSE: An antimicrobial composition containing 3,4,7-trihydroxyflavone isolated from fermented Rhus verniciflua barks is provided to supper microbe growth and to be used as a therapeutic agent or antimicrobial agent.CONSTITUTION: An antimicrobial agent contains 3,4,7-trihydroxyflavone compound as an active ingredient. The compound has an antibacterial activity against Staphylococus aureus, Bacillus subtilis or Escherichia coli and is isolated from Rhus verniciflua barks. The Rhus verniciflua barks are fermented using Fomitella fraxinea at 15-35 Deg.
