PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide materials which prevent the pH of water from becoming strongly alkaline (for example, 10.0 or more), prevent hydrogen sulfide from occurring in the water, can supply silica, calcium, and iron stably in the water, do not need recovery and the like, and can manage easily.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a material for promoting growth of algae which comprises a calcium silicate-containing material, a humic substance, and an iron compound.
