A method, device and equipment for display defect detection. The method comprising: identifying defective pixels in a first image on the front side of the measured display screen, wherein the first image is taken when the measured display screen is in a solid color display state; identifying external dirty pixels in a second image on the front side of the measured display screen, wherein the second image is taken when the measured display screen is in an extinguished state and is illuminated by a diffuse light source to the front side; and for each of suspected defective pixels identified in the first image, detecting whether the pixels at the same location of the second image is external dirty pixels or, if not, determining the suspected defective pixels as display defective pixels.
