PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviation of a treatment position even with a backrest lowered, so that desired massage effect can be obtained, to have high safety by preventing a pinch and overturn in seating, for example, and also to make an outside appearance superior.SOLUTION: A chair type massage machine 11 includes: a seat 12, a backrest 13, and wall-shaped armrests 14 that conceal a lower structure under the seat 12 on both left and right sides of the seat and the backrest. In the massage machine 11, backward inclination of the backrest 13 and forward movement of the seat 12 are interlocked. Also, a body part 14b in the lower side from the height corresponding at least to the seat 12 in the armrest 14 is made to protrude forward from the front end position of the seat 12 when the backrest 13 is raised and moved backward. The front end position of the body part 14b of the armrest 14 is at or near the front end position of the forward and backward moving region of the seat 12.
