PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a degree of design freedom of an absorbent article.SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of an absorbent article, a right half part of a crotch member 2 is joined on a first sheet member 51, with a first upper layer part 511 superposed on a first lower layer part 512. Further, a second sheet member 52 is joined on a left half part of the crotch member 2, with a second upper layer 521 superposed on a second lower part 522. Then, the first sheet member 51 and the second sheet member 52 are spread, and the first sheet member 51 and the second sheet member 52 are joined together at width-directional both side edges. This manufacture of the absorbent article 1 can eliminate any necessity of cutting parts of the first sheet member 51 and the second sheet member 52 to form an opening and any necessity of making the crotch member 2 to slip into the opening, so that the width of the crotch member 2 is not restricted by the width of the opening. Consequently, this method can improve a degree of design freedom of the absorbent article 1.
