A polysulfone based ultra-filtration and clarification membrane comprising polysulfone based hollow fibre membrane for ultra- filtration and clarification of vegetables and fruit juices preferably bottle gourd juice (Lagenariasiceraria) is provided to enhance its shelf stability for upto at least 8 weeks under cold sterilization conditions. A polymer formulation/composition for said membranes and a process of cold sterilization of bottle gourd juice involving saidmembrane is also providedthat retains the nutritional values, colour, aroma and taste of said juice even by completely avoiding thermal treatment and any added preservatives.
