The invention relates to a feed additive comprising at least one non-nutrient, wherein the non-nutrient is incorporated in a matrix, the whole being encapsulated by a coating comprising at least one plant material having a saponification value greater than 180. The invention also relates to a method for preparing a feed additive. Finally, the invention also relates to the use of the feed additive in order to improve the zootechnical performances of a ruminant.L'invention concerne un additif alimentaire contenant au moins un non-nutriment, lequel le non-nutriment est incorporé dans une matrice, l'ensemble étant encapsulé par un enrobage comprenant au moins une matière végétale dont l'indice de saponification est supérieur à 180.
