The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating bone metabolic diseases and, more specifically, to a composition for preventing and treating bone metabolic diseases containing 4-(5-(2-methoxyphenyl)-3-(p-tolyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-4-oxobutanoic acid or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. According to the present invention, the compound inhibits the expression of NFATc1 induced by RANKL in an osteoclast to have an osteoclast formation controlling effect, and has a bone resorption controlling effect in an in-vitro bone resorption experiment and a mouse cranial bone resorption experiment by an osteoclast, thereby being used in diseases related to the bone resorption.본 발명은 골대사성 질환의 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 구체적으로 4-(5-(2-메톡시페닐)-3-(p-톨릴)-4,5-디하이드로-1H-피라졸-1-일)-4-옥소부탄산 또는 이의 약학적으로 허용가능한 염을 포함하는 골대사성 질환의 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따르면, 상기 화합물은 파골세포에서 RANKL에 의해 유도되는 NFATc1의 발현을 저해함으로써 파골세포 형성 억제의 효과를 나타내며, 파골세포에 의한 시험관내 골 흡수 실험 및 생쥐 두개골 흡수 실험에서 골 흡수 억제 효과를 나타내었으므로 골 흡수와 관련된 질환에 이용될 수 있다.
