PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency during storing glass substrates and inhibit degradation of the glass substrates when the glass substrates are taken out while preventing contact between the glass substrates stored in a storage container. ! SOLUTION: A glass substrate storage container 1 includes: a box body 2 where storage grooves D1, used for storing glass substrates G in a vertical manner, are formed on an inner side surface 2a and a bottom surface 2b; a top plate 3 where upper edge part holding grooves D2, holding upper edge parts U of the glass substrates G stored in the box body 2, are formed; corner holding members 4, where corner holding grooves D3, each of which holds a corner C formed between the upper edge part U and a side edge part S continuing into the upper edge part U, are formed; and a lid 5 covering an area above the box body 2 through the top plate 3 and the corner holding members 4. In the glass substrate storage container 1, upper surfaces of the top plate 3 and the corner holding members 4 are disposed facing a ceiling surface of the lid 5.
