The present invention relates to a spinal traction device for pulling the spine of a sitting or lying person and thereby stretching the same. Particularly, the spinal traction device comprises: a support member (100) for supporting the users buttocks such that the spine is safely relaxed solely by the users simple motion a center member (200) coupled to a hinge structure (300) of the horizontal member (100) a backrest member (400) configured to freely move in the longitudinal direction of the center member (200) a neckrest member (500) configured to freely move in the longitudinal direction of the backrest member (400) a moving means (600) for moving the neckrest member (500) according to movement of the backrest member (400) and a length control means (700). The present invention, configured as above, is advantageous in that, when the center member (200) is rotated away from the support member (100), the length control means (700) pushes and lifts the backrest member (400), and the moving means (600) elongates both the backrest member (400) and the neckrest member (500), thereby relaxing the spine solely by the users simple motion of tilting the back backward. The present invention is also advantageous in that a wire (610) made of an elastic material and elastic means (800), which are configured on the center member (200) and the neckrest member (500), respectively, suppress excessive elongation of the backrest member (400) and the neckrest member (500), thereby avoiding any accident resulting from excessive relaxation of the spine or cervical vertebrae.
