An intention detection and gait adjustment device and a method using the same are provided for a walking aids. The walking aids includes an intention operating crutch, a servo controller and a lower limb Robot. The intention detection and gait adjustment device includes a distance measuring device and an angle measuring device. The distance measuring device generates a displacement sensing signal relative to the extended length of a string to the servo controller, so that the step length of the lower limb Robot under walking is adjusted by the servo controller according to the displacement sensing signal.
