PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing dried Angelica keiskei without causing reduction and omission of flavor, color and various components of Angelica keiskei, a food additive having a health promotion effect without impairing flavor, color and nutrient of Angelica keiskei and dried Angelica keiskei useful for various uses such as powdered tea, fresh vegetable substitute, etc. SOLUTION: The dried Angelica keiskei is obtained by finely cutting undried Angelica keiskei, passing the finely cut Angelica keiskei through a gap formed by a pair of rotating heating drums especially heated at 120-150°C and drying to give dried Angelica keiskei having a water content of≤10 mass%. The obtained dried Angelica keiskei has a water content of≤10 mass%, an apparent specific gravity of≤0.1 and is made into a powdered product if necessary. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
