The portable device is used to prevent bite wounds, attacks and obstruction from dogs affecting persons employed in the public services, sportspersons, small children, walkers and blind persons, and to prevent fouling of public and private land by dogs and cats. To prevent dogs and cats from approaching persons and from remaining on a specific piece of land, electronic frequencies in the ultrasonic range above 20000 Hz, which are inaudible to the human ear, are generated by the electrically operated device and radiated at a specific sound pressure in sweep mode in a conical sound field.
