APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DRAINING OUT THE RESIDUAL OIL IN A REPLACEABLE OIL FILTER USED IN A MARINE ENGINE FOR AVOIDING POLLUTION TO THE ENVIRONMENT WHEN CHANGING FILTERS
The invention is directed to an oil filter cartridge containing a sealed outlet orifice which can be opened to allow for efficient oil recovery. An oil filter cartridge with an outlet valve is considered to be part of the claimed invention. The oil filter cartridge with attached valve is particularly beneficial for use on marine engines where quarters are cramped and the chance for water pollution due to oil spill is great.
