PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a nurse call master machine for responding to a call from a nurse call slave machine to properly detect bad breath.SOLUTION: A nurse call master machine is provided with a bad breath sensor 8 for detecting bad breath near a microphone 5 of the nurse call master machine. Only when a response operation part 6 is operated to respond to a call, the nurse call master machine makes the operation of the bad breath sensor 8 effective, and when a bad breath level detected by the bad breath sensor 8 is a prescribed level or greater, the nurse call master machine displays it on a display part 4, so that a medical worker themselves can confirm that the bad breath level is high only in the case where a patient calls the medical worker and a the medical worker having responded thereto is highly likely to contact the patient. On the other hand, the operation of the bad breath sensor 8 becomes ineffective in the case where the medical worker is not likely to contact the patient such that the medical worker calls the patient or another medical worker.
