A vessel or container, in particular a planting barrel, comprises a substantially disc-shaped bottom (2) and a circumferential wall (1) consisting of upright bars. At their lower ends, the bars are provided with inwardly directed transverse grooves (11) for anchoring the bottom. The bars are held together by means of encircling strips (3, 4).
