PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber which has high cushioning property to hardly twist, is excellent in liquid-drawing property, and can improve wearing feeling when being applied to an absorbent article, and to provide an absorbent article using the same.SOLUTION: An absorber 4 includes a fiber mass 11 including synthetic fibers 11F, and water absorbing fibers 12F, and the plurality of fiber masses 11, or the fiber masses 11 and the water absorbing fibers 12F are entangled with each other. A content mass ratio (fiber mass ratio) of the fiber mass 11 to the water absorbing fibers 12F is smaller at a skin facing surface side (top face sheet 2 side) than a non-skin facing surface side (rear surface sheet 3 side) of the absorber 4.
