Disclosed is a contraceptive kit comprising one or more packaging units wherein each packaging unit comprises 21 to 28 daily active dosage units and wherein: each daily active dosage unit comprises drospirenone in an amount of from about 2 mg to about 6mg, without estrogen； and drospirenone is in a crystallised form. Also disclosed are kits and compositions wherein a single daily active dosage unit, when orally administered under fasting conditions, provides a pharmacokinetic profile for drospirenone having: a mean tmax ranges from 2.2 h to 6h； and a mean Cmax which is less than about 30 ng/ml.
