PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine effective for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome.
SOLUTION: A water-soluble polysaccharide extract is obtained by extracting rice bran with hot water, separating insoluble matter by filtration, and processing the filtrate with glucoamylase to decompose starch. An enzyme composite is obtained from a precipitate produced by adding ammonium sulfate to a culture filtrate formed by culturing Lentinus edodes belonging to Basidiomycetes. A biological decoration is given to the water-soluble polysaccharide extract by mixing the enzyme composite with the water-soluble polysaccharide extract, allowing them to react with each other at a pH of 4.5 for 30 to 60 minutes, and further allowing them to react with each other at a pH of 6.0 for 30 to 60 minutes. The product is, for example, disinfected, sterilized, and concentrated for use as a liquid medicine of a bowl disease treating agent.
