PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic base composition keeping sensory features of a vanishing cream base.SOLUTION: The cosmetic composition is substantially free of fatty acids and soap and yet displays the typical sensory and optical features of a vanishing cream. The composition comprises 3-10 wt% 12-22C fatty alcohol, 0.1-5 wt% emulsifier, 2-5 wt% inorganic agent, 0.1-5 wt% polymer and water. The inorganic agent comprises smectite clay.
